Myna Recorder user manual

What each part of Recorder does. For the details of any command, right-click it in the app and choose Information.

Updated 1 October 2026.

Getting started

Myna Recorder — “Recorder” in this manual — is a macro recorder for Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit. It records your keyboard and mouse, lets you edit the result, and replays it into any application. Download it here.

Installing

Download the installer and run it, or download the standalone version, a single file, and run it from wherever you keep it. It is the same program either way, and your macros and settings are kept in the same places.

The installer asks for no administrator rights unless you choose to install for all users. Running a newer installer over an old one updates it in place and keeps your macros and settings. It closes a running Recorder without asking, so save your work first. Uninstalling removes the program only; your macros and settings stay.

Activating

You do not need an account. When Recorder starts, choose Continue without an account to record, edit and replay straight away, with the paid features locked; it asks again each time it starts. A free account adds a 7-day trial of the paid features and keeps you signed in. To use one:

  1. Create an account and confirm your email.
  2. In Recorder, sign in at the top right with your email and password. The strip then shows your plan and AI credit balance.

Your first macro

Press Start recording (F2), do the task by hand, press Stop recording (F3), then Run (F4) to replay it. Stop (F6) ends a run early.

A macro sends real input to whatever is in front of it. Know your Stop key (F6) before you start; it works even when Recorder is not the active window.

Full, Minimal and Live

The three buttons beside Settings change the layout. Minimal shrinks Recorder to one row: Record, Run, Pause and Stop, and a picker for what Run starts. Live puts a board under that row, with a box for the running macro line by line, and one each for the monitors, the timed actions, the hotkeys, the schedule, the clipboard and the log.

Boxes chooses which ones show. With Edit layout on, drag a box to move it and pull its edges to resize it. A box can also float in a window of its own, which stays when you go back to Full or Minimal.

Recording

Recording captures what you do with the keyboard and mouse in any application, with the original timing. Settings → Recording chooses what is captured.

A recorded click goes to the same spot on the screen every time. If the window moves or the resolution changes, it lands in the wrong place. Clicking on an image instead fixes that.

Playing back

ActionDefault key
Start recordingF2
Stop recordingF3
RunF4
PauseF5
StopF6

The keys work from any program. Change them in Settings → Hotkeys.

Run (F4) starts what the open tab is about: the macro, the clicker, the agent, the monitors or the timed actions. Pause and Stop work on whatever is running.

A macro can play faster or slower than you recorded it, and repeat a set number of times or until you stop it. Test plays only the steps you select.

Steps can also bring a program window to the front, wait for it, move or resize it, or close it, finding it by its title.

A humanized move or click travels the way a real hand does, replaying movement recorded from a real mouse. That is part of Basic and Pro; on Free the pointer moves in a straight line instead.

Stop is the one way to interrupt a running macro from anywhere. Keep it bound.

Images

An image is a named picture of something on screen: a button, an icon, a heading. Recorder finds it when the macro plays and acts on wherever it is now, so the macro survives a moved window, a new resolution or another computer. Capture images in the Images view.

Capture just the distinctive part. Background inside the picture stops it matching when the background changes.

A step can also find things by colour: give it a colour range and it acts on the middle of the biggest patch it finds.

For something on screen only for a moment, a burst keeps photographing an area for a few seconds, up to 20, and lets you flip through the pictures and crop as many as you like. Bursts are part of Basic and Pro.

Reading text from the screen

A macro can read text from part of the screen — an order total, a status message — and use it: compare it, decide what to do next, or put it in a message. The built-in reader works on your computer and is free. An optional AI reader costs credits.

Asking the AI

A macro can ask an AI a question about part of the screen — “is there an error dialog?”, “how many rows are red?” — and act on the answer. Each question costs credits, and a macro that asks the AI cannot be exported.

Monitors

A monitor watches the screen while a macro runs, or on its own, for something that might happen: a crash dialog, a session-expired banner, an out-of-stock warning. It can look for an image, which is free, or ask the AI, which costs credits.

When it sees it, it can show a popup, send you a Telegram or Discord message with a screenshot, or stop the macro. Telegram and Discord are set up in Settings → Notifications.

From a Telegram chat, or a Discord channel through a bot you create, you can also start, pause and stop runs and ask for a picture of the screen. Turn it on in the same place.

A monitor can also run a saved script when it fires. It pauses whatever is running, plays the script, then carries on from where it stopped.

Monitors, Telegram and Discord are available on Basic and Pro.

Timed actions

Timed actions press a key or click the mouse at regular intervals — for example, pressing K every two minutes. A timed action can also be a short sequence, like holding Y, pressing T and then releasing Y.

  • They run on their own or alongside a macro, the clicker or the monitors, but not with the agent.
  • When you start them, each one runs once right away and then repeats at its interval, unless you gave it a start delay.
  • If you stop and start again, each one picks up where it left off instead of running again immediately.
  • You can add some randomness to the timings.
  • A timed action can pause your macro while it runs.
  • If a timed action holds a key down and never releases it, the key stays down until you turn that timed action off or press Stop.

Timed actions are available on Basic and Pro.

Guide: How to press a key every X seconds.

Scheduler

The Scheduler starts a saved script, or the agent with a goal, at a day and time you choose.

  • Scheduled runs happen one at a time. Each one waits for the one before it to finish.
  • An entry can repeat: a set number of times, at an interval from one second to seven days. A run that has to wait for an earlier one still happens, late.
  • Pause schedules holds the queue. Entries that come due wait, and run in order when you resume.
  • Recorder has to stay open. A run whose time passes while Recorder is closed is skipped, not run late.
  • Settings → Notifications can tell you when a scheduled run starts, finishes or fails.

The Scheduler is available on paid plans.

Guide: How to schedule mouse clicks at a set time.

Hotkeys

The Hotkeys tab is for your own hotkeys. A key combination pressed in any program, while Recorder is open, can open a program, a file or a folder, open a website, or play a saved macro. The keys for recording, Run, Pause and Stop stay in Settings > Hotkeys.

  • A combination can be several keys held together, in the order you press them: Ctrl+C+G and G+Ctrl+C are different hotkeys.
  • A hotkey takes its keys away from the program in front, so a plain letter stops typing while Recorder is open. Recorder warns you when a choice is risky.
  • A hotkey that plays a macro works only while your Stop key works, so you can always end what it starts.

Hotkeys are available on Basic and Pro.

Guide: How to create your own hotkeys.

Clipboard

The Clipboard tab keeps the text you copy, in any program. Click an item to copy it again, double-click it to paste it into the program you were using, or pin the ones you reuse so they stay on top.

  • Add item writes an item of your own, such as a signature or an address, and pins it. Drag pinned items into the order you want.
  • Set hotkey gives a pinned item keys that paste it into whatever program you are in. A hotkey can also bring the list up beside the pointer: type to filter, Enter to paste.
  • The list keeps your 50 most recent copies. Clear unpinned empties them and leaves pinned items alone.
  • It stays on your computer, stored encrypted, and skips anything a password manager marks private. Switch Record what I copy off before copying something you do not want kept.

The Clipboard is available on Basic and Pro. On other plans the tab still opens, but nothing new is recorded and the saved items are locked.

Guide: The clipboard with pinned items and hotkeys.

Auto clicker

The Clicker tab clicks, or presses a key, over and over until you stop it, from one click every few seconds to hundreds a second: at the cursor, at a fixed point, or through a sequence of points you pick. With the tab open, F4 starts it and F6 stops it from any program. It can stop by itself after a count or a time, or run only while you hold the key. With that option on, pushing the mouse against the top edge of the screen stops it too.

The clicker is on every plan. Basic and Pro add humanized movement with a travel speed of its own, a random extra delay on the wait and the hold, scatter around the point, wandering inside a box you draw, and sequences of points with a wait for each one. On Free those controls show with a padlock.

Humanized movement makes clicks behave like a hand on the mouse in ordinary applications. Recorder does not disguise itself or get around other programs' anti-automation checks. It can leave its own window out of screenshots and screen recordings, if you choose to, so that its picture searches see the screen behind it.

Guide: The auto clicker, step by step.

Export as a program

File → Export as Program… turns a macro into a single .exe that runs on any Windows computer, without Recorder installed.

  • Tick Show a control window for anything you will start by hand. Without it, the program runs as soon as it is opened and shows nothing.
  • A macro that uses the AI cannot be exported.
  • It runs the macro only. Monitors, timed actions and Telegram or Discord messages stay in Recorder, so a macro that sends a notification cannot be exported.

Stopping an exported program

Press your Stop key, F6 unless you changed it. If another program is using that key, the exported program picks another and tells you which before it starts.

An exported program contains everything in the macro, including any text you typed. Check before sending one to anybody. Windows may warn the first time it runs on another computer.

AI assistant

Describe the macro you want and the assistant writes it. Nothing changes in your macro until you approve the reply. For anything longer than a few steps, start in Plan mode: the assistant asks about the job before writing anything.

You get better results if you capture your images first and describe what the screen looks like, not just the goal.

Credits

The AI features spend credits: the assistant, the agent, AI questions and the AI reader in a macro, and monitors that ask the AI. Recording, playback, images, the built-in text reader and export are free. Your balance is shown in Recorder and on your account page. Plans and credit packs are on the pricing page.

Agent

Agent mode is being rebuilt and is switched off for now. The Agent tab shows it as locked. This section describes how it works, for when it returns.

Type a goal and the AI carries it out on your desktop with the real mouse and keyboard, checking the screen after each step. It is best at short, visible jobs — open a page, fill in a form, click through a few screens. Longer work is better recorded as a macro.

It is a simple task doer, not an all-purpose AI assistant: it sees only the screen and works only through the mouse and keyboard. It has no plugins or connections to other apps, and it does not remember earlier runs.

The agent is in beta. It decides what to do from what it sees, and it can misread the screen and click or type the wrong thing. Use it only for things you can undo. It will not solve captchas or other human checks, and using it to get past one is not allowed.

Watch it the first few times. Press Stop or your Stop key at any time; the agent will not start without one bound. Every step costs credits, including the steps of a run that does not finish.

What it may do

Settings → Agent chooses what the agent may do. Running commands and restarting or shutting down the computer are off by default.

Leave those two off. A command line with your rights can do anything you can, and the agent cannot tell a safe command from a destructive one.

Your licence

One computer at a time

To move to another computer, sign out on the old one, then sign in on the new. If the old computer is gone, sign in on the new one anyway: once the old one has not checked in for 30 days, the new one takes its place.

Working offline

A dropped connection does not stop a run. Recorder keeps working and shows “Signed in (working offline)”.

Features your plan does not cover

Some features need a paid plan; the pricing page compares them. A control your plan does not cover turns red or shows a padlock, and clicking it explains why. A tab your plan does not cover carries a red padlock too; it still opens, so you can see what it does. A plan change reaches Recorder within about half an hour.

Troubleshooting

SymptomUsual cause and fix
Clicks land in the wrong place The window moved or the resolution changed. Click on an image instead of a screen position.
Works slowly, fails at full speed The application needs a moment. Wait for the thing you are about to use to appear before clicking it.
An image is not found although it is on screen Capture it again, more tightly, with less background.
Text is read wrongly Read a smaller area that holds just the text.
The keyboard is stuck after a run A key was left held down. Press and release it by hand, then fix the macro.
A hotkey does nothing It was changed or turned off, or another program claimed it first. Check Settings → Hotkeys.
A hotkey on the Hotkeys tab does nothing Its row says why. Usual causes: another hotkey or a Recorder key already uses the same keys, a macro hotkey has no working Stop key, or your plan does not include hotkeys.
Nothing new appears on the Clipboard tab Record what I copy is off, the copy was not plain text, a password manager marked it private, or your plan does not include the clipboard.
Nothing happens when playback starts The target application runs as administrator and Recorder does not. Start Recorder as administrator too.
A scheduled macro did not run Recorder was closed at that time. A missed entry never starts late; double-click it in the Scheduler to book it again.
The agent will not start It needs a Stop key in Settings → Hotkeys, and a signed-in account with credits.
A button is red Your plan does not include that feature. Click it; the message says which. See Your licence.
An exported program does nothing visible Export it again with Show a control window ticked.
An exported program will not stop with F6 Another program owns that key, so the exported program chose another and said which before it started.
