Instant replay for PC: save the last 30 seconds of your screen

Myna Screen Recorder keeps the last 5 seconds to 3 minutes ready while you work or play, and saves them with one key after the moment has passed. Instant replay needs a free Myna account.

Updated 20 October 2026 · Instant replay is part of the free account and the full version of Myna Screen Recorder.

1. The short answer

Yes. Turn on Instant replay in Myna Screen Recorder and choose how much to keep, anywhere from 5 seconds to 3 minutes. Then carry on. When something worth keeping has just happened, press the save key and the last stretch is saved as a video. You do not need to be recording when the moment happens, only to have instant replay on.

Instant replay is part of the free account and the full version. Without an account Myna still records, but it has no instant replay.

2. How instant replay works

An instant replay records all the time and keeps only the latest stretch, dropping whatever is older than the length you chose. That is why it can save a moment after it has passed.

It also means a replay can only save what it has already seen. If instant replay was off when the moment happened, nothing can bring it back. Turn it on before you start playing or working, and leave it on.

3. Save the last 30 seconds with Myna

  1. Install Myna Screen Recorder and sign in with a free Myna account. Download it here.
  2. Turn on Instant replay and choose how much to keep. 30 seconds is enough for a play in a game or a bug on screen; the range runs from 5 seconds to 3 minutes.
  3. Carry on as normal. The app keeps the latest stretch ready.
  4. When the moment has passed, press the save key. The last stretch is saved as a video.

A free account also includes trimming, cropping, GIFs and shrinking a video to 8, 25 or 50 MB, which help when a clip is going to be sent to someone. There is no watermark.

4. Other ways to save the last minutes

Myna is not the only program that does this. If one of these already works for you, you may not need another.

  • Xbox Game Bar is built into Windows 10 and 11. It can record in the background while you play a game and save the last stretch with a shortcut. It is aimed at games and apps rather than the whole desktop, and the background option has to be switched on first.
  • NVIDIA Instant Replay comes with NVIDIA's own software and works with NVIDIA graphics cards.
  • AMD Instant Replay is part of AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition and works with AMD graphics cards.
  • OBS Studio is free and open source and has a Replay Buffer. It has to be set up first, and it sits inside a larger program built for streaming with scenes and sources. See a simpler alternative to OBS if you only record.

Myna puts instant replay in a recorder that also records the screen, a window or an area, with the PC's sound and your microphone, and can give you a link to share when you stop. It needs Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) or Windows 11, 64-bit, and a graphics card that supports Direct3D 11.

5. Longer than 3 minutes

The longest instant replay is 3 minutes. To keep more than that, start a normal recording instead. With a free account a recording can be any length, and without an account it stops at 5 minutes.

7. Questions

Can I save a moment that already happened if instant replay was off?

No. Instant replay can only save what it has already kept, so it has to be on before the moment happens. Turn it on, choose how much to keep, and leave it on.

How long can an instant replay be?

From 5 seconds up to 3 minutes. You choose how much Myna keeps ready, and one key saves it.

Do I need to pay for instant replay?

No. Instant replay is part of a free Myna account. Without an account the recorder works but has no instant replay. The full version adds higher quality, up to 4K at 240 fps, and more Myna Cloud storage.

Can I keep more than the last 3 minutes?

Not with instant replay, which stops at 3 minutes. For longer, start a normal recording: with a free account it can be any length.

Which versions of Windows does it run on?

Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) and Windows 11, 64-bit, with a graphics card that supports Direct3D 11.

Does it add a watermark?

No. Myna Screen Recorder adds no watermark, with or without an account.

8. Download

Myna Screen Recorder is free to download for Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) and Windows 11, 64-bit. Sign in with a free Myna account to turn on instant replay.
