Record a screen, a window, an area or around the mouse

Record one screen, one window, a rectangle you type in or drag out, or a frame that follows the pointer. Pick 16:9, 4:3, 1:1 or 9:16, and nudge the frame with the arrow keys.

The PC's sound and your microphone are recorded together, with noise reduction, push-to-talk and separate volume sliders. Draw while you record with a pen, highlighter, arrows, shapes, numbered steps, text or a whiteboard. Show click rings, a pointer glow and shortcuts such as Ctrl+C; shortcuts are off by default, and plain typing is never shown. None of this needs an account.

Share a recording as a link

Sharing is off by default and needs a Myna account; signing in is free. Turn on Myna Cloud and the link is on your clipboard the moment you stop, while the recording uploads in the background. Anyone with the link can watch it in a browser.

There is no limit on links and no bandwidth cap. A free account includes 2 GB of Myna Cloud, with links that play up to 720p and are kept 15 days. With a storage plan, links play up to 4K, can be downloaded and made private, and are kept while the plan is active.

Frame rate, quality and file size

You choose the frame rate, and it is never capped to your screen's refresh rate. How high it can go depends on the version: 720p at 30 fps without an account, 1080p at 60 fps with a free account, and 4K at 240 fps with the full version.

Everyone gets Small and Balanced quality in H.264. The full version adds High and Indistinguishable quality, Lossless (every pixel exact, in an MKV file), and the HEVC and AV1 codecs, which make smaller files.

Questions

Is Myna Screen Recorder free?

Yes. Without an account you can start recording straight away, up to 720p at 30 fps and 5 minutes per recording. Signing in is free and raises that to 1080p at 60 fps with no time limit, and adds instant replay, overlays, trimming, GIFs and 2 GB of Myna Cloud. The full version, from $6 a month, goes up to 4K at 240 fps. See pricing.

Does it add a watermark?

No. Recordings carry no watermark, with or without an account and in every version.

Is there a time limit?

Without an account, each recording can be up to 5 minutes. With a free account there is no limit on the length of a recording.

Can it record at 144, 165 or 240 fps?

You choose the frame rate, and it is never capped to your screen's refresh rate. A free account records up to 60 fps (30 fps without an account); up to 240 fps needs the full version.

What is instant replay?

Instant replay keeps the last 5 seconds to 3 minutes ready, and one key saves them after the moment has passed. It needs a free account. How instant replay works.

How do I get a link to my recording?

Sharing is off by default and needs a Myna account. Sign in, turn on Myna Cloud, and the link is on your clipboard the moment you stop. Free links play up to 720p and are kept 15 days; with a storage plan they play up to 4K. More about sharing with a link.

How does it compare with OBS or Loom?

OBS is built for streaming, with scenes and sources; Myna is for recording your screen in a few clicks. Loom shares recordings as links from the browser; Myna does the same from a Windows app. See Myna as an OBS alternative and Myna as a Loom alternative.

Which versions of Windows does it run on?

Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) and Windows 11, 64-bit, on a PC with a Direct3D 11 graphics card. The app is available in 78 languages. Get it on the download page.

Start recording in a minute

No watermark. A free account removes the time limit; without one you can record up to 720p at 30 fps and 5 minutes.
